DRIVING INTO THE SUNSET

What an amazing night to do just that - drive into the sunset.  With a few things on my mind that I needed to release, I jumped in my car and headed south.  Headed that way for about 45 minutes then turned west.   KLOVE turned up, windows down, and hair blowing in the wind.  No real thoughts in my mind during the drive.  My intention wasn't to make decisions about what was on my mind, but to totally renew my mind and spirit.  Release the strongholds.  Our mind is a constant battlefield.   I needed to let my mind be free.
I began to think of the positive things in my life.  Where I am and where I want to be.  The blessings.  The obstacles.  Thankful for the things that have been put before me that have made me stronger.  Thankful for my health.  My friends and loved ones.  How much I appreciate them and I hope they know it - which means I have to do  my part in showing it!
When all of those things fill your mind, it makes the troubling things seem a bit more clear - if that makes any sense at all.  Happiness is a choice.  Taking control of our mind and moving forward is a choice.  What we focus on and what we do with our energy.
As the sun set on the horizon, out in the middle of no where, I pulled my car over.  Sat near a freshly cleared corn field and watched the sun sink out of sight.    A giant, romantic, fireball in the sky.  All I could say was "Thank you God, for your peace that passes all understanding."
Take care of your mind and spirit.  It is just as important as what you eat and how much you exercise!

  1. These drives always gave me peace. No matter the problems, I would be filled with peace and calm...
